Loving Bowls
December 10, 2011
2-5pm, Sedona Arts Center
Special Exhibition Gallery & Theater Classroom
Sedona Arts Center opened its doors once again for Loving Bowls 2011, which will be held on Saturday, December 10th 2011 from 2 – 5 pm at the SAC Special Exhibition Gallery & Theater Classroom. Every Thursday, since March 3rd from 1 – 4 pm, generous individuals with ceramics experience have volunteered their skills to create either wheel-thrown or hand-built bowls for this incredible fund-raising event. Through donations to the event SAC's Ceramics Department has been able to provide all clay, glazing and firings.
This year a new aspect of the event will honor some of our local community heroes. Through key representatives in the community 10 – 12 local heroes were invited to come to the Arts Center and paint their interpretation of the loving bowls logo into special bowls that will be part of the silent auction. Help us honor our local heroes by coming to the event reading the stories of our heroes and bidding on their bowls!
Over 800 bowls and 50 silent auction items will be available including Heroes Bowls, Artist's Painted Bowls and other surprise silent auction items. Volunteers will be needed for the day of the event, so please contact us and put your name on the list.
